The nest is comprised of 2 entrances, 2 chambers and a hydration chamber. The nesting area is made of autoclaved aireated concrete, more commonly known as ytong, this material has excellent water retention creating a climate with stable humidity, the textured surface also allows for ants to grip easily to the surface unlike acrylic nests. The ytong is surrounded by a plastic frame to prevent any breakages or crumbling. Clear acrylic is screwed onto the frame to prevent escape while still allowing a full view of the colony inside.
The Outworld has 3 clear perspex walls and a clear lid to provide the best view of your ants. The sliding lid is well secured to ensure the safety of your ants and includes 0.3mm micro holes to allow for air flow while not letting even the smallest of ants escape. Substrate can be added to the outworld for a more natural look or it can be left bare for ease of cleaning.
